Dry Needling
Tight muscles causing pain?
Looking for faster recovery from sport?
Dry needling relieves tight, stubborn muscles by targeting trigger points - knots in muscles that can contribute to pain, decreased flexibility and decreased muscle function.
A very small filiform needle is inserted into the trigger point of a muscle to help elicit a twitch response, inactivating the trigger point to reduce pain and restore normal muscle function.
It is safer & More effective than taking Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs for muscular pain Relief.
What to expect?

Filiform needles are so thin, most people will not even feel the penetration. Discomfort can vary from patient to patient but most of our clients describe it as “weird” or a “dull ache.” Used in conjunction with deep tissue mobilization, joint mobilization and corrective exercise, you’ll feel better after just one treatment.

E-Stim (electrical stimulation) may also be used and can enhance the effects of the treatment, creating gentle contraction and relaxation of the irritable muscle, which helps the muscle relax further.

You can return to all daily activities and sports immediately after a dry needle session. It is recommended to drink a lot of water, perform gentle movement and muscle activation following a treatment. You may be sore for 24-48 hours after treatment. That is normal!

Other forms of treatment that may be combined with dry needling are cupping, myofascial release, deep tissue body work, joint mobilization, and corrective exercise for optimal results. Dry Needling by itself will help, but will act as a bandaid without additional treatments and corrective exercise or movement re-training.
Dry Needling can be included in all of our Physical Therapy Treatments.
