Dr. Molly Shea, DPT, RYT, PCES | Founder

Hi! I’m Molly Shea. I founded Breathe In Motion Wellness on the strong belief that every person deserves to feel good and keep doing the things they LOVE! After working in the traditional health care system for several years, I grew tired of the “sit and wait” approach to injuries and being confined by the restraints of insurance companies dictating patient care. I believe we need to shift our focus to lifestyle medicine and prevention of injuries before they become a bigger issue!

Our treatment approach at Breathe In Motion involves the entire body to identify problematic areas that may require further attention and lead to inefficient movement. Your left shoulder pain, right low back symptoms and right knee pain may all be connected. Our Brookfield team of physical therapists for athletes will find the central link and tackle a problem before it becomes painful or limits your function. We know the whole body is connected so we will treat your WHOLE self.

My dream is to provide a space where you feel heard, supported and loved. A space where all of our therapists have a wide variety of tools and training to address the entire kinetic chain. We want to change the narrative of healthcare and physical therapy for female athletes across the lifespan at our Brookfield, WI clinic. We’ll pair you with a therapist that will best suit your specific needs and goals.

We’re excited to embark on this life changing journey with you to help you find the best version of yourself. It’s time to take care of YOU. Let’s crush those goals that you didn’t even think were possible. Our physical therapists for athletes in Brookfield are going to support you every step of the way.

Dr. Marissa Valentini, DPT, Cert. DN

Hi! My name is Marissa Valentini, and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in both orthopedic/sports conditions and pelvic health. After navigating my own injuries, I was drawn to a career in physical therapy. I am passionate about helping athletes understand their injuries, feel stronger, and perform at their highest level. As an experienced athlete, I have based my rehab approach on treating the whole body through proactive, individualized injury prevention.

I ran Division I cross country and track at Marquette University, and I have a lifelong background in running and soccer. I am especially excited to support women across all stages of life, which is why I obtained my Pelvic Function Level 1 certification through Herman & Wallace. I am dedicated to helping clients return to sport and fitness after pregnancy, treating symptoms such as leakage, pelvic pain, and other postpartum recovery challenges. My treatment sessions are personalized and dynamic, combining manual therapy, functional strength training, and sport-specific rehab to address each individual’s goals. Whether you’re training for your next race, recovering from an injury, or returning to workouts postpartum, I’m here to guide you through every step of your journey!

I love staying active—whether it’s yoga, pilates, strength training, or joining a group fitness class. Outside of the clinic, you can find me with a coffee in hand, running by the lake, or exploring new restaurants around the city. The team at Breathe in Motion embraces the philosophy that exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be a form of medicine. I’m so excited to be a part of this team, and I can’t wait to work with other incredible therapists and clients, becoming the best versions of ourselves…TOGETHER!

Hi! I’m Stephanie Smith, a doctor of physical therapy and orthopedic clinical specialist. I am also the clinic director here at Breathe In Motion. I have worked as a physical therapist for the last 10 years and have enjoyed helping my patients with a variety of orthopedic injuries, ranging from head to toe. My focus during sessions is to use my manual therapy interventions, dry needling techniques and overall functional exercise to help patients to improve their movement and strength to attain their personal goals. Ultimately, I want every patient to be able to work towards levels even better than their previous activity.

Throughout my professional career, I have earned a Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association Award for my contributions to the profession in my first 3 years of practice and became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist of physical therapy in 2016. I have advanced training in manual therapy for the spine and both upper and lower extremities and am certified in dry needling.  Areas of further training include treatment of headaches and jaw pain, dizziness, pelvic health, and pregnancy and postpartum exercise.

I truly love the challenge of treating any problem a patient presents to me and working to establish any interconnections between other past and present symptoms. I am passionate about not only treating the current problem but empowering my patients to look to the future and help prevent further injury. I love providing the framework, exercises, and resources to help patients feel in full control of their future and overall health.

Client Care Administration

Bobbie Jo,
Mequon Clinic Manager

Hi, I’m Bobbie Jo!
I’m thrilled to be joining the Breathe In Motion team full-time this August as the Office Manager at our Mequon location! You might catch me around in July as I begin transitioning from my current role as a full-time gymnastics coach.

I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Molly and the BIM team for several years while coaching at LaFleur’s Gymnastics, and I couldn’t be more excited to officially come on board. I’ll continue pursuing my passion for coaching team gymnastics at LaFleur’s while stepping into this new chapter with Breathe In Motion.

A bit about me: I live in Cedarburg with my husband, our three kiddos under the age of three (yes, it’s wild), and our chocolate lab, Huckleberry—Huck, for short. My husband and I are high school sweethearts from Cedarburg and have been married for six years. Athletics have always been a huge part of my life—from softball, track, and gymnastics as a kid to competing collegiately at UW-Whitewater. I’ve been coaching gymnastics ever since graduating, and our whole family thrives on staying active. My husband coaches at Askren Wrestling Academy in Thiensville, so you could say we’re a full-on sports family!

I can’t wait to welcome you to our beautiful new Mequon clinic. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything—we’re here to make your experience exceptional.

These experiences have given me a great perspective of the inner workings of health and fitness environments. My compassion for others and their personal physical success will motivate me to be an integral part of Breathe In Motion.

Reach out if you need anything. I am here to help make your experience amazing!

WHAT CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

I’ve been seeing Stephanie for a shoulder injury. I appreciate her extreme care, her thoughtfulness, and most importantly her use of creative approaches to relieve the pain and help my shoulder heal. My number one goal is to avoid surgery and with Steph’s help, I have my best chance!

BW
This place is an absolutely amazing place to get Physical Therapy. I have been to many different medical facilities, and nothing has compared to the treatment that I get here. At first it may seem like a lot with the cost, but they will work with you, and it will be worth it in the end. I have done only 4/5 sessions so far and we have gotten more done than doing twenty sessions under insurance at a hospital system. The ladies that treat you here are super nice and understanding.
AM

Molly is incredibly knowledgeable! I saw her for pelvic floor health for my second pregnancy. She asked questions I haven’t been asked before and did a thorough evaluation to try and get to the root cause of ailments I had with my first pregnancy. She exudes passion for what she does and stressed the importance of prevention. She never made me feel silly for asking questions and explained what and why she was doing in a way I could understand. I would absolutely recommend Molly and Breathe in Motion to any pregnant and postpartum mamas!

AD

I’m a mom of two young and very active little ones. I had on and off low back pain since my last pregnancy and everyday life with my kids was becoming more painful and frustrating. I started therapy with Molly and was so impressed with her kind and compassionate demeanor, her knowledge, the quality of and her practice based on treating the whole person, listening to needs and helping achieve goals. I am back to chasing my kids and being active without pain! Molly is absolutely wonderful! So grateful.
